James M. Robb Lakes Fishing Report, Week of October 8, 2026

This is a dated weekly report built only from official gages and Colorado Parks and Wildlife notices, checked the evening of Oct. 8, 2026. It is not a bite report. We have no verified catch information for this water this week, so we do not guess at one. Re-check the linked sources the morning you go.

Corn Lake, Connected Lakes, Island Acres and Fruita, week of October 8

The park lakes along the river are the easy shore option in the Grand Valley this week. There are no posted closures, and one stocking listing that may be in the Fruita section.

Conditions

  • Closures: The CPW James M. Robb park page says there are no closures at this time. None of the Robb sections is on the CPW closures list (linked from the CPW fishing page).
  • Stocking: The CPW trout stocking report lists "Fruita Red Rocks" (northwest region) with a report date of Oct. 2. CPW's Robb page names Red Rocks Lake in the Fruita section. Use the Atlas link on the stocking report to confirm it is the same water before you plan around it. No other Robb lake is listed.
  • Hours: The park is open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Corn Lake office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends and holidays (970-434-3388). CPW's Island Acres page gives two different season notes, so call Island Acres at 970-464-0548 for current hours.
  • Piers: CPW lists four accessible fishing piers in the Connected Lakes section. Connected Lakes is day use and has no office of its own.
  • ANS: CPW lists West and East Lake at the Wildlife Area section and Red Rocks Lake in the Fruita section as infested with zebra mussels.
  • Ice: No CPW ice notice. Open water.

Reading the numbers

There is no gage on these lakes, so there are no level or temperature numbers to give you. The one fresh data point is the stocking listing. CPW says the stocking date shown is when the water was added to the report, and the actual stocking may have happened earlier that week. We have no catch reports.

Access

Pay the daily pass, park in the marked lots and fish from the paths and piers. The Corn Lake section also has the river launch; the lakes and the river are different trips with different rules, so read the CPW page for the section you are in.

Safety

These are easy family banks, but the lakes are next to a cold river. Keep kids within arm's reach near the water and on the piers. Wear a life jacket on any boat, kayak or paddleboard, tell someone your plan and return time, and Clean, Drain, Dry between waters (how to clean your gear). See Colorado Safety Essentials and our cold-water shoulder-season checklist.

Regs

Read CPW rules and regulations, the CPW fishing hub and Colorado fishing eRegulations for the exact water before you keep a fish. We do not print bag or size limits. Our Colorado fishing laws page explains where to look.
