Rifle Gap Reservoir Fishing Report and Conditions
Current Water & Ramp Conditions
- Rifle Gap Reservoir Telemetry: Rifle Gap Reservoir: monitored onsite at the park rather than through a live USGS stream gage (Oct. 27, 2026). Check on-site park conditions via CPW Rifle Gap State Park.
- Check CPW regulations for your water (including special Rifle Gap walleye bag and slot rules).
Boat Ramp, Low-Water Access & CPW Notices
- Boat Ramp Status: CLOSED for the remainder of 2026 due to low water (closed Aug. 2, 2026; ramp gates locked and ANS inspection station closed for the season). Hand-launched, human-powered craft (canoes, kayaks, paddleboards) may still launch prior to the Nov. 1 to Mar. 31 seasonal boating closure. Source: CPW Rifle Gap State Park Highlights.
- Low-Water Mud Hazard: CPW warns of extended exposed lakebed shorelines and deep mud hazards; carry gear carefully to firm gravel/rock sections (CPW Low-Water Release).
- Clean, Drain, Dry: Brush mud and vegetation off boots, waders, and hand-launch hulls before leaving the park.
