About

Viral Cast Outfitters is a small fishing gear and local-water shop based in Grand Junction, Colorado. We spend our mornings watching the river gages at Cameo and Loma, climbing Highway 65 onto the Grand Mesa when the high lakes open up, and working the shorelines at Highline Lake, Vega, Rifle Gap, and Blue Mesa.

We started VCO because Western Slope anglers deserve honest, practical gear and trip notes grounded in the waters we actually fish, from warm desert afternoons on the Colorado River to cold mornings over a fresh hole in the ice.

How We Write Our Fishing Reports

When we publish a Western Slope water note, we pull live flow and reservoir numbers straight from USGS, Colorado Division of Water Resources, and Bureau of Reclamation gages, and we link directly to Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) for current regulations and stocking tables. Because season rules and bag limits can change mid-year, always verify your water in the official CPW fishing regulations brochure before you cast.
