Short answer: On Grand Valley / Western Slope launches, treat morning fog or low visibility stacked with rising wind as a separate cancel trigger from daytime heat alone. If you cannot see the far bank, channel traffic, or whitecap trend, stay ashore until visibility and wind both clear your plan.
