We have no verified catch information for this water this week, so we do not guess at one. Re-check the linked sources the morning you go.
Lake Pueblo, week of October 8
The reservoir held about level this week. Two CPW items matter: the tailwater closure below the dam is over, and the North Boat Ramp closes for the season Nov. 1.
Conditions
- Level: USGS 07099350, Pueblo Reservoir near Pueblo, read 4,858.18 ft at 8:45 p.m. MDT on Oct. 8, compared with 4,858.32 ft on Sept. 30.
- Inflow: Colorado DWR ARKPUECO, Arkansas River above Pueblo, read 93.7 cfs at 8:15 p.m. USGS 07099400 read a water temperature of 14.3 C (58 F) at 8:15 p.m.
- Ramps and camping: The CPW Lake Pueblo State Park page says the North Boat Ramp closes for the season starting Nov. 1 and the Northern Plains campgrounds are closed for the winter.
- Tailwater: CPW lifted the voluntary noon-to-midnight closure on the Arkansas River tailwater (Pueblo Boulevard East to Fountain Creek) on Oct. 1, and said a closure could return if conditions worsen (CPW Oct. 1 release).
- Closures list and stocking: Lake Pueblo is not on the CPW closures list (linked from the CPW fishing page) and not on the CPW trout stocking report as of the Oct. 2 update.
- Ice: No CPW ice notice. Open water.
Reading the numbers
A level pool keeps the shoreline steady. The inflow temperature in the upper 50s F tells you the river is cooling; there is no official lake temperature. We have no catch reports this week.
Access
Use the North or South boat ramps and remember the North ramp closes Nov. 1. Mandatory boat inspections apply; see the CPW park page.
Safety
Lake Pueblo is big open water and afternoon wind can stack up waves quickly. Small craft should stay near shore. Wear a life jacket on any boat, kayak or paddleboard, tell someone your plan and return time, and Clean, Drain, Dry between waters (how to clean your gear). See Colorado Safety Essentials and our cold-water shoulder-season checklist.
Regs
Read CPW rules and regulations, the CPW fishing hub and Colorado fishing eRegulations for the exact water before you keep a fish. We do not print bag or size limits. Our Colorado fishing laws page explains where to look.
