How to fish it this week
Fish from the bank, or hand-launch. CPW's Vega State Park page and the highlights, both read this morning, say the Early Settlers and Island boat ramps are closed for the season because of low water. Hand launching is still permitted. A hand launch with a small outboard or a trolling motor still needs an aquatic nuisance species inspection at the visitor center, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fish cleaning station is closed for the season.
The accessible fishing pier near Oak Point is not fishable during low water. Check with the Vega State Park visitor center before you plan that pier into the day.
What you are fishing for
The highlights page names rainbow trout and cutthroat trout. It points bag limits at the CPW brochure, so this report does not print one. We did not find a catch report from the water this week, so this note does not name a lure or add a fish the page did not name.
We do not print ice thickness.
