Harvey Gap fishing report, Friday, October 23, 2026
How to fish it this week
Do not count on a boat. CPW's Harvey Gap page and the highlights, both read this morning, say the boat ramp is closed for the season because of low water. The highlights page also says boat inspections are closed for the winter, along with the ramp. A separate seasonal boating closure runs November 1 through March 31. That date has not started. The low-water ramp closure already has. The page does not say hand launching is allowed, so this report does not say it either.
When the ramp is open, motors are limited to 20 horsepower and water skiing is not allowed. That does not put a boat on the lake today.
What you are fishing for
The highlights page says you can take catfish, largemouth and smallmouth bass, perch, crappie, rainbow trout, northern pike, and muskie. It points bag limits at the CPW brochure, so this report does not print one.
CPW's catchable-trout stocking report, read today, still lists Harvey Gap with a report date of September 18, 2026. That list is trout about 10 inches long. The date is when CPW added the water to the report. The fish may have gone in earlier that week. It is not a stocking from this week, and it is not a catch report.
We do not print ice thickness.
