From the Bench: Week of October 16
This week was about making the site more useful every time you open it.
On Thursday night the weekly fishing reports updated for 30 Colorado waters in one roundup. It runs from Rifle Gap, Vega, Blue Mesa and Highline out to the Eastern Plains reservoirs, plus five rivers: the Colorado near Cameo, the Gunnison near Grand Junction, the Fryingpan near Ruedi, the South Platte below Brush Creek and the Animas at Durango. Every report is built from USGS gauges and Colorado Parks and Wildlife info, and it updates every Thursday night. Heading onto ice? Check CPW for current conditions first.
Colorado Fish Kitchen picked up three new posts: yellow perch from Rifle Gap, brook trout from Grand Mesa, and channel catfish from Highline Lake. Highline has a CPW fishing closure from Oct 1 to Feb 28, so the catfish post points you to Mack Mesa Lake instead. That makes 5 Fish Kitchen posts so far.
The website also got a livelier look, and the full product grid moved to its own Shop page. The homepage now leads with who we are, this week's fishing reports and the giveaway.
Behind the scenes, we kept requesting quotes from makers for gear we don't carry yet, and replies keep coming in.
